Today, we want to talk about a recent commercial floor sanding Suffolk Bury St Edmunds job completed just before the new year. To us, wooden floors are not that different from people. Each has positives and negatives, and not a single one is perfect to start out with. This old wooden floor was no exception. Inside a dental office, this wooden floor had been previously covered with carpet, and once torn up, the wooden flooring was slathered in carpet backing and glue residue.
How We Did It – Commercial Floor Sanding Suffolk Bury St Edmunds
Keeping the condition of the floor in mind, we chose to start the floor sanding process with a very coarse grit sandpaper. We began sanding with 24 grit, then worked our way through 40 grit and 60 grit sandpaper. Once the glue and carpet backing was removed, we found a beautiful quarter sawn oak parquet floor underneath. Next up, we sanded with a fine 100 grit sandpaper and finished the sanding process with our Lagler Trio, one of the top tools in the floor sanding industry. We use the Lagler Trio often, some of our past case studies show off just how important this tool is to our work. Read more about it in the following posts:

Once we finished with the Lagler Trio, it was time to apply the finish. After one coat of Junckers Base Prime, we followed with two top coats of Junckers HP Commercial. Time and again, Junckers has proven to have superior floor finishing products, and the products used on this quarter sawn oak parquet floor was no exception. Take a look at the finished product and judge for yourself.
