Expert Tips to Spring Clean Wood Floors
When we think of deep cleaning, it’s common that our minds immediately conjure up images of the most potent cleansers. However, if you regularly sweep or vacuum, your wooden floors don’t need to be “deep cleaned” very often. At most, about every other month is ideal. High traffic areas are no exception. So, spot cleaning areas that get grimy is the best way to preserve the condition of the wood.
Ideally, to spring clean wood floors, work in small areas. Use a mop made of soft cloth that is damp, not saturated with water. Allow the section to dry thoroughly before moving on to the next, to ensure that there is no lingering moisture sitting on the surface.
Finally, make sure you are using a cleanser that is made specifically for hardwood flooring. In, most cases, water alone works well to spring clean wood floors. But if you do elect to use a cleanser, make sure it’s safe for wood and that it won’t leave behind a residue that will end up attracting more dirt. Our shop has a great selection of the products we recommend you use to keep your floors spick and span.
